TOUR THE ISLAND
While the island does not have fast cars, bright lights, and fancy restaurants, it DOES have lots of hidden treasures, literally!
In addition to the World Renown Fishing, Lobster Diving, Caves, Blue Holes, Nature Hikes, Boat Tours, and the third largest Barrier Reef in the world, Andros is divided into ten townships: Mastic Point, Lowe Sound, Nicholls Town, Staniard Creek, Fresh Creek, Cargill Creek, The Bluff, Long Bay Cays, Kemps Bay, and Deep Creek, each having its own unique features and vibe.
Morgans Bluff, known for the hidden buried treasures of the infamous Captain Henry Morgan, is located just a few miles down the road. It has a quaint little pub where they serve a mean cheeseburger and cold ‘Kalik”. It is the highest point in North Andros, providing a spectacular view of the Tongue of the Ocean and the Lagoon, separated by The Great Barrier Reef, and just west of the bluff is an eerie ship-wrecked harbor. Nichols Town and Lowe Sound are also a short distance, where you will find a grocery store, liquor store, clothing boutiques, restaurants, and several fun little food shacks along the beach. Handcrafted gifts and clothes can be found in places like the Androsia Batik factory in Fresh Creek and the Basket Weaving Boutique in Red Bluff. With so many things to do and see, you will wish you had booked another week or two!
